Authorities in the Virgin Islands (VI) have extended the 11:00 pm to 5:00 am national curfew for two more weeks according to a new curfew order that will take effect from today, Saturday, September 4, 2021.
The order was signed and gazette yesterday, September 3, 2021, by acting Governor David D. Archer Jr while Governor John J. Rankin CMG is away from the territory and will run until September 18, 2021.
The curfew extension comes as the territory currently has some 66 active confirmed cases of the
COVID-19 virus with a small number of those cases considered local.
According to the signed order, the curfew will help to control, suppress and prevent the spread of
COVID-19 as well as allow for the protection of all persons within the Territory.
