2 Employees test positive for coivid at Onemart Superstore, agency appeals for persons to get vaccinated

In an official press release from One Mart Superstore yesterday June 28th, 2021, the agency notified the public that two of its employees tested positive for COIVD-19.
It stated, “The Management of OneMart Supermarket and Food Service Division wishes to inform the public that two (2) of our staff have been diagnosed with COVID 19. Our prayers go out to them for a safe and speedy recovery. In the interest of the safety of all staff and customers, we have asked all unvaccinated workers to quarantine at home until further notice. We are pleased that 75% of our 140 workers are fully vaccinated and will continue to serve our customers.”

The agency then made an appeal for persons to get vaccinated saying, “We encourage all other staff to get vaccinated ASAP for their own safety. We appreciate that persons have medical and other reasons for not vaccinating. We continue to follow all COVID 19 requirements as recommended by the Government. However, we lend our voice to encouraging all in the BVI to get vaccinated ASAP if you can.”

The total number of actives cases in the territory now stands at 13, with 313 cases recorded to date and 299 recoveries and one death.
