3 allegedly held in cocaine bust off VG
Information just reaching our newsroom is that three persons have been taken into custody in an alleged cocaine bust off Virgin Gorda today, September 22, 2022.
According to reports reaching our newsroom, the vessel with the suspects was intercepted some 24 miles off Virgin Gorda in a joint operation.
1 bale of cocaine has so far been recovered, according to sources familiar with the operation.
The vessel captain has allegedly claimed British nationality.
Our newsroom was told that the vessel attempted to evade authorities, but a US Coast Guard helicopter pursued and fired shots at the outboard engines.
