37 now dead from COVID in the BVI

Thirty-seven persons have been confirmed dead in the BVI because of COVID-19.
This latest statistic on COVID fatalities in the territory represents an increase of roughly a half-dozen more persons.

According to the Health Ministry’s epidemiological summary dated August 5, the BVI continues to see a decline in active COVID-19 cases.

There are currently 441 active cases in the BVI. Fourteen of those cases are on marine vessels, 389 are on Tortola, 28 are on Virgin Gorda, six are on Jost Van Dyke and the remain four have been recorded on Anegada.

In the meantime, the number of fully vaccinated persons in the territory now stands at 12,187. Another 4,403 persons in the BVI are partially vaccinated.
