70% chance of showers; Thunderstorm possible today- DDM

The Virgin Islands can expect showers and even an isolated thunderstorm today, Sunday, October 10, 2021, the Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has said.

It said moisture and instability associated with a tropical wave along, with a moderate to fresh trade wind flow transporting low-level patches across the area, will maintain a high chance for shower activity over and around the islands today and a moderate chance overnight.

DDM also said hazy conditions will continue to reduce visibility over and around the islands.

Forecast

Weather today: Partly cloudy to cloudy and hazy skies with a 70 percent or high chance of showers and a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm.
