On November 4, 2020, Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) had reported that Nathalie Creque was arrested and charged for allegedly stealing money from a woman’s purse left in a washroom at St Thomas Bay, Virgin Gorda.
Our information was confirmed in the Arrest Blotter for October 25-November 7, 2020, released by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) today, November 12, 2020.
According to the Arrest Blotter, on November 2, 2020, at 5:15pm, “Police arrested and charged Nathalie Creque, 80, of South Valley, Virgin Gorda for Theft. Bail was granted in the sum of $5,000 with one surety for her appearance before the Magistrate’s Court on 13-01-2021 at 0900hrs.”
According to earlier reports reaching our newsroom, Creque was charged after the money reported stolen was located in a freezer at her place of work.
Our newsroom was informed that a woman had used a female washroom at St Thomas Bay jetty where she forgot her bag containing a purse with $920.00 in a white envelope.
She said when she returned for her bag she noticed the money was gone but observed the suspect leaving the washroom area.
The matter was reported to police who reportedly questioned the suspect and conducted a search.
The money fitting the description in the white envelope was allegedly found in the base of a white deep freezer at her workplace which is a bar at the ferry dock.
