Accepting applications | 10 foodservice businesses to benefit from grants

Ten foodservice businesses that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic will each receive a $4,000 grant to help jumpstart operations.

A media release from the Office of the Premier and the Department of Trade said these grants are being provided by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the BVI government.

The release said government is now applications.

The grant, in the meantime, will be to “provide additional cash flow for operational expenditure,” the release said.

“The programme is also designed to provide guidance on incorporating digital services into their business models as well as improving financial management practices,” it added.

Meanwhile, Premier Andrew Fahie expressed his gratitude to the UNDP “for their continued support to the BVI during the COVID-19 crisis”.

He also encouraged businesses in the sector to apply and participate in the programme, which he described as meaningful.

To apply, persons can log on to the government’s official website for digital application forms. The deadline to submit these applications is July 15.
