Active COVID-19 cases down to one

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the BVI has reduced to one. Health Minister Carvin Malone made the announcement today October 6, adding that the territory continues preparation to reopen its borders since no new COVID-19 cases have been detected.
“These low-to-no active cases are a good indication that the public is complying to all the health and safety protocols and measures that the government has put in place. It is also a good indication of our readiness for re-opening in the weeks ahead, which will give our economy the boost that it needs,” the Health Minister said.

The BVI’s COVID-19 recoveries stand at 69 while the total number of COVID-19 cases recorded is 71. One person has died of the virus.

The Health Minister, in the meantime, has commended the continued work of health teams, the joint task force, as well as the private and public alliances who’ve helped to reduce the number of active COVID-19 cases in the territory.
