Airport Customs finds weed in FedEx package
Customs officers at the Terrance B Lettsome International Airport have discovered cannabis in a FedEx package that was sent from the United States, our news centre has been told.
BVI News understands that the weed was discovered earlier this week. Our news centre hasn’t been able to determine the exact weight of the drugs but our sources confirm that it was under two kilograms.
Reports are that Customs officers became suspicious because of the strong smell that emanated when they were handling the package.
The police were alerted and after conducting examinations, the substance was found to be cannabis.
Our news centre further understands that the contact number listed on the package went unanswered when called.
In the meantime, it isn’t clear whether the police have held anyone in connection to the find.
