American held @ airport with loaded firearm- RVIPF

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has said it has arrested a male, age 52, from the United States of America for entering the territory via Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport with a loaded firearm.
The man had reportedly managed to pass through airport security undetected on April 21, 2022, but was arrested when he attempted to leave the territory with the said loaded firearm on April 26, 2022.

According to the RVIPF, in a press release today, April 27, 2022, initial inquiries indicate that the male entered the Territory on April 21, 2022, in possession of the weapon and was not checked by Immigration or Customs. “However, upon trying to depart the Territory on April 26, the weapon was found in his possession, and he was subsequently arrested by the Police stationed at the Airport,” the RVIPF stated in a press release.

Police did not state whether the man has since been charged but said inquiries are ongoing.
