In a recent post-Cabinet statement, the government said the Lesmore Smith-owned Top Priority was contracted to provide security services at the Elmore Stoutt High School from July to December 2021.

The release explained that this tender waiver was due to Cabinet’s decision to redefine the scope of services and noted that payment of $327,360 is available for the contracted period.

Back in October, Cabinet announced in a separate media release that the government retroactively awarded Top Priority Security Services a contract some nine months after the company began its duties. That contract was to provide transportation services for government funds.

The security company was expected to be paid $286,845 for its services that would run from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021.

Selective tender for voter registration software

In its most recent release, Cabinet also stated that it approved a limited or selective tender process for the purchase of a Voter Registration and Election Management System software.

The contract, Cabinet said, is not to exceed $150,000 and includes the associated maintenance fees for use by the Office of the Supervisor of Elections.

The software is to be utilised as the electronic database of registered voters and the government said it agrees to enter into a contract with the selected vendor once the system is compatible with the election equipment presently utilised by the Office of the Supervisor of Elections.
