The days of acting as the Director of the Social Security Board (SSB) for Mrs. Jeanette Scatliffe-Boynes is finally over; effective January 1, 2022, she will take on her new role as the Director of the institution that she has been a part of for more than 25 years.

Minister for Natural Resources, Labour, Immigration and Social Security Hon. Vincent O. Wheatley (R9) passed the motion on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, and it received overwhelming support from members of the House of Assembly.

He said according to the Social Security Ordinance, “the Cabinet shall from time to time find fit and proper persons to be the Director of the Social Security Board, the board, on such terms and conditions as considered appropriate.”

The decision nonetheless must be done in consultation with the SSB and then it shall only then be referred to Cabinet.
