The formidable VG Bayside Blazers have advanced to the second round of playoffs in the BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF) National ‘District’ League; however, one of the favourites- East Rockers 2.0- is now in a do-or-die situation.

After winning the first game in the Best of Three Playoffs with Filipinas on September 11, 2021, VG Bayside Blazers made it a clean sweep on Wednesday, September 16, 2021, defeating Filipinas 75-72 in a keenly contested affair that saw Filipinas fighting tooth and nail to stay alive but forced to give up the ghost against the undefeated Blazers.

The consistent Stephano Paul led the Blazers scoring with 19 points and 10 rebounds and was ably supported by Kimron Telemaque who dropped in 18 points.

Travis A. Issac, with 12 points, was the other VG Bayside Blazers player registering double figure scores.

The talented Louie A. Poblete led the Filipinas resistance with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals in a valiant but vain effort.

Dreyonte Finley (17 points) and Rodrigo Gatchalian (13 points) were the other players who helped to keep hope alive for the Filipinas until time ran out.
