Burglars take laptop, $$ from St George's Primary School

Burglars are now going to schools, albeit not to learn, as St George’s Primary School in Road Town was the second school burglarised recently.

According to reports, burglars entered the school sometime between February 14 and 15, 2021, and made off with a laptop from a kindergarten class and $5 petty cash.

The discovery of the crime was allegedly made by a teacher on February 15, 2021.

It is reported that the teacher observed that the door of the Grade One classroom, where the petty cash was kept, was damaged. Further checks revealed that the laptop was missing from the kindergarten classroom.

The school is said to be secured with CCTV cameras.

JvD Primary School was also burglarised

The Jost van Dyke Primary School also recently became a victim of burglary.

Reports reaching our newsroom from sources at the school indicated that the sum of $1,100, which was raised via a fundraising event for the school, was stolen between the afternoon of February 15 and the morning of February 16, 2021.
