BVI is one of top two best places to visit in Carib’n

Despite a partial closure of its tourism industry, the 2021 US News & World Report Best Hotels rankings has named ‘Nature’s Little Secret’ - the BVI - one of the top two places to visit in the Caribbean in 2021.
St Lucia tops the list which comprises the 17 best Caribbean hotspots for travellers.

The US News & World Report said the countries that made the list were decided, “based on user votes and expert insights, plus factors like accessibility to beaches, tourist attractions and comfortable accommodations”.

Speaking of the BVI, the travel magazine said: “‘Posh’ is the best word to describe the British Virgin Islands. The shoreline at Cane Garden Bay is particularly picturesque, the white sand beaches on Anegada island are stunning and the boulders and sea pools at The Baths National Park are mystifying.”

The top six countries on the list are St Lucia, BVI, the US Virgin Islands, Turks & Caicos, St Vincent & the Grenadines, and Antigua.

The BVI’s tourism industry has been struggling since the closure of the territory’s border because of COVID-19.

Though the Terrance B Lettsome Airport reopened in December 2020, the arrival numbers have not been like those of previous seasons, partly because the seaports account for the greatest visitor traffic.

However the local seaports — specifically the Road Town Ferry Terminal — is set to reopen to international traffic some time in March.
