BVI Post’s money order service with US being discontinued

The reciprocal International Postal Money Order service between the United States Postal Service (USPS) and the Virgin Islands Postal Service (BVI Post) is being discontinued.
Acting Postmaster General Iris Romney said this discontinuation will take effect on Friday, October 1.

A media release from BVI Post said all international postal money orders that USPS issues up to Thursday, September 30 will be valid for one year and will become null and void thereafter.

“All International Postal Money Orders held by customers can be cashed at any post office throughout the Virgin Islands,” the release stated.

BVI Post did not disclose why the service was being terminated.
