BVI rated as having best beach bars in Caribbean

American newspaper USA Today has ranked two local establishments in the BVI as among the top 10 best beach bars in the Caribbean.
And of the hundreds of bars that exists across the region, Soggy Dollar on Jost Van Dyke has taken the number-one spot on that prestigious list.

USA Today highlighted the BVI-based bar for its famous Painkiller rum cocktail. Meanwhile, falling further down the list in the number-four spot is Hendo’s Hideout which is also located on Jost Van Dyke. Hendo’s came in behind Elvis’ Beach Bar and the Sunshine Shack; both of Anguilla.

Commenting on the recognition received, the BVI Tourist Board said the territory is proud to be included in these rankings.

“We are honoured to receive this coveted recognition from USA TODAY and its readers,” said Tourism Director Clive McCoy who also highlighted that The Baths National Park on Virgin Gorda was named one of the best Caribbean attractions while Callwood Rum Distillery was named one of the best Caribbean Rum Distilleries for 2023.

“The Caribbean’s beach bars, attractions, and rum distilleries are among the best in the world. We are proud to be ranked in the top ten regionally in these categories. Congratulations to our award-winning Tourism Industry partners,” McCoy added.
