Hundreds of persons have flocked to polling stations across the British Virgin Islands to exercise their right to vote in the ongoing general elections happening today, Monday, April 24.
Well before midday, thousands of persons were recorded to have cast their ballot and that number is consistently increasing.
A look at regular updates being provided by the Government Information Service shows that the number of votes cast grows by the hundreds with each alert at the respective polling station.
Notwithstanding the steady climb in votes cast, election authorities have also been seeing a few instances of spoiled ballots.
In the meantime, things have remained virtually incident-free at the pooling stations. The police have maintained a high police presence at those locations.
