BVIBF District League playoffs on today @ Multi-Purpose Sports Complex

Basketball action in the BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF) District League 2021 Playoff leagues returns this afternoon Saturday, September 11, 2021, at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town, Tortola for the first round.

Six teams are expected to compete in three games today as follows:

Game 1: Bay Youths vs 3D at 4:30 pm
Game 2: VG Bayside Blazers vs Filipinas at 6:30 pm
Game 3: Skillful ballers Vs A’s at 8:30 pm

For tomorrow, Sunday, September 12, 2021, the schedule is as follows:

Game 1: Jr Mega Mix vs Jr East Rockers at 4:30 pm
Game 2: Mega Mix vs Z6ne
Game 3: East Rockers Vs Gunz

Public Relations Officer for the tournament, Eustace C. Freeman aka 'Boss' said persons can expect an ‘exciting game’ with the first two rounds being played in the best of three format and the finals played best of five.

“I just want to encourage the spectators to continue to come out to the very exciting games, I want them to come out and represent their district!,” he further said.

Ticked will cost $3 for children and $5 for adults where social distancing guidelines, mask-wearing, and other public health measures against the COVID-19 virus are expected to be strictly enforced.

The Virgin Gorda Bayside Blazers Sr team is now the regular season champions, having won all eight games played.

They will now face the same competition in the playoffs leading up to the championship and is being managed by the Hon Julian Willock, Speaker of the VI House of Assembly.
