BVIHSA urgently seeking Rapid Testing Agents

BVIHSA urgently seeking Rapid Testing Agents

The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) is seeking to hire 20 Project Employees to facilitate remote COVID 19 testing. This additional human resource will be assigned to the mobile testing facilities at the various seaports throughout the Territory.

This urgent hiring drive supports Government’s push to resume business as usual and reopen the Territory’s seaports.

Towards this quest, the BVIHSA issued a vacancy notice on Monday, August 23, 2021) seeking to commence hiring of the required Project Employees who will serve as Rapid Testing Agents at the various ports of entry.

These agents will be responsible for collecting COVID-19 Testing samples. Such testing will include PCR and Antigen swabbing both oral and nasal.

Qualifications

The organisation seeks applicants who are mature, flexible, computer literate, and able to troubleshoot; as well as function on varying administrative levels.

At least a High School Diploma is required; and applicants should be at least 18 years old and fully vaccinated against the COVID 19 virus.

Applicants should also have basic knowledge of healthcare operations, and be fully aware of current COVID-19 protocols and guidelines; and are expected to function in a team environment, as well as work well under pressure.

Training

Training will be provided by personnel from the BVI Health Services Authority to ensure that the new recruits are able to execute their duties effectively; and to make certain that they are operating according to internationally recognised standards and guidelines.

In a social media post, Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL) made a personal appeal for applicants.

He stated that there is currently a big need for Rapid Testing Agents.

“Help wanted - now!! The HSA received over 45,000 rapid tests and they have advertised for additional staff to be trained to administer and record the tests to incoming and outgoing clients.

"Staff members are needed for Jost van Dyke, West End Port, Road Town Jetty, Virgin Gorda, and Anegada,” Hon Malone said.

These are salaried opportunities; and interested persons should apply by August 31, 2021.
