BVITB Staycation targets USVI, SXM & PR travellers

The [British] Virgin Islands Tourist Board (BVITB) has launched its Staycation initiative, targeting travellers from the neighbouring islands of Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands (USVI) and St Maarten.

The initiative is an annual incentive programme that seeks to attract persons who are either living within the territory or in select neighbouring destinations to vacation and enjoy the offerings of the destination.

“Are you craving delectable local cuisine? Maybe you are yearning for a break from virtual meetings and looking for an escape in nature. The BVI Tourist Board encourages you to Relax, because We Have Everything Here! This summer, “Find Yourself right here in the BVI” and indulge in a BVI Staycation,” a press release from the Tourist Board on June 15, 2021, said.

The Staycation runs from June 15 to November 30, 2021. During that time, accommodations, spa treatments, dining, tours, yacht charters and a variety of land and sea activities under the BVI Staycation Campaign will be at discounted rates.

“This is the perfect time to allow BVILOVE to inspire all of our residents to celebrate this beautiful Territory we call home and enjoy a BVI Staycation,” it said.

New Staycation logo design

Meanwhile, under the new directorship of Mr Clive McCoy, Director of Tourism, the Staycation logo was given a facelift.

“The new design highlights all the elements that make people fall in the love with the BVI. Nature, the greenery, flora and fauna, the beautiful blue seas, our rich history, and of course, our destination. There is no need to travel abroad because we have everything right here”, he said.

The release said additional information could be found on www.bvitourism.com/staycation or BVIStaycation on Facebook.
