Gospel and reggae rock legend Carlene Davis filled the air with live music at the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) final rally held in the parking lot near One Stop Mall in Road Town on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Delivering an electrifying gospel performance with other hits like ‘Nothing but the Blood of Jesus, One Day at a Time, Behold He Comes and Walking on the King's Highway, Davis' familiar voice and well-known songs meant the audience was able to sing along.
Ms Davis of Jamaica also performed a gospel version of the lover’s rock hit ‘Stealing Love on the Side,” while reminding the audience that there’s never a time when there is not a need for Jesus.
As the evening progressed, she delivered a short sermon while inviting the Premier, Dr the Natalio D. Wheatley (R7) and the rest of the VIP’s 2023 elections candidates.
The candidates including the entire
audience were told to hold hands amidst an absence of COVID-19 while she
delivered a cover of Bob Marley’s “One Love,” to close out the
performance.
