‘Church people’ need to update VI on meeting with Hon Milling- Julio S. Henry

Talk show host and community activist, Julio S. Henry has slammed the local clergy for not providing updates on what came out of their meeting with the UK Minister for the Overseas Territory, the Rt. Hon Amanda A. Milling.

Hon Milling as part of her visit to the VI for meetings on the CoI Report and its recommendation said she met with Christian Council Representatives, key figures in the finance sector, and representatives of community groups to listen to a wide range of voices for their views on the recommendations on the CoI Report.

According to Hon Milling, they shared a range of perspectives on the impact of corruption and poor governance on the people of the Territory and what needs to be fixed as a priority.

Henry while as a guest host on the May 6, 2022, edition of ‘Da Morning Braff’ radio show on Tola Radio VI however said the Christians Council who met with the Minister are yet to provide an update.

Update needed on meetings - Henry

“The Minister said herself when she gave her a departing statement that she did meet with community-minded persons, clergy people from the churches, and so forth. So, church people, y'all need to come out and give the people them an Update,” he said.

Henry also called on local congregations to stop attending the church of pastors who were at the meeting and have shared an update.

“If you know that your pastor was sitting in that room and he don't have the audacity nor the decency nor the representation to come to you and tell you a loyal Church goer, that he was in the room or she was in the room… what was said and this is they believe was the representation. Don't go to them church no more,” he added.

Henry added, “They ain't the people you need to be following. A great leader, a real leader will by now be updating you on whatever took place so.”
