Class Of '82 Donates To Pediatric Ward

The BVI High School Class of 1982 recently donated a quantity of bed linen to the Pediatric Wing of the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital (formerly Peebles Hospital), the BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) stated.
Hon. Carvin Malone, Minister for Health and Social Development, thanked the class members for their donation and re-iterated the importance of the community having a stake in the provision of healthcare in the Territory.

“We want to thank BVI High School class of 1982, Seven Seas Water and DSC Trucking Services for the contribution that you have made and we invite like-minded persons to continue to give towards the development of health care in the Territory,” he said.

“As we expand the health services throughout the Virgin Islands we have to do all we can as a community and Government to ensure that we have the proper facilities, equipment and tools that we need to deliver excellent healthcare,” Hon. Malone stressed.

The Health Minister further noted that the new Nurse Iris O’Neal Medical Centre will soon be opened and donations will be welcomed from members of the community.

The donation was made in the presence of Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ronald Georges; Chief Operations Officer, Ms. Cedorene Malone-Smith; Managing Director of Seven Seas Water, Ms. Noni Georges and representatives from the Class of 1982.

Persons interested in contributing towards the legacy and improvement of health care services on Virgin Gorda can make a donation directly to the First Bank, Friends of the BVIHSA checking account 7292008218 or by filling out a pledge form on Virgin Gorda at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic.
