Closing Window: Registration For USVI Jabs Ends Friday

Residents of the British Virgin Islands who are interested in receiving their COVID-19 vaccines in the US Virgin Islands have until Friday to register. This announcement was made by the Government of the Virgin Islands via a news bulletin on Wednesday, August 11.
“The public is notified that Friday, August 13 is the last day to register for the British Virgin Islands-United States Virgin Islands (BVI-USVI) Vaccination Bubble initiative, to ensure that timelines set by the United States Virgin Islands are adhered to.”

It further noted: “Persons can register by downloading the application and completing the form from the Government’s website www.bvi.gov.vg, and submit along with required documents to ministryofhealth@gov.vg.”

The numbers to call for information and for registration purposes is 852-7525, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

In the meantime, residents are being reminded that there are conditions that must be adhered to. These conditions are that priority will be given to teenagers, ages 12 to 17, individuals under 18 years old must have a legal guardian present to provide consent, a valid passport that meets immigration requirements to enter the USVI is a must-have, as well as being able to fund all associated costs for the journey.

The initiative is a partnership between the USVI and the BVI governments to provide Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines to persons who are not interested in taking the available AstraZeneca or, in the case of teenagers, unable to do so.
