After becoming highly controversial following insensitive statements regarding reparations for slavery and frequent antagonism against the elected Government of the Virgin Islands, the Virgin Islands would have been glad to see the back of Governor Augustus J. U. Jaspert this year end; however, it will have to bear up with his presence in the territory until January 2021.
