Fireworks peppered the sky at midnight as Barbados officially became a republic, broke away from 396 years of British dictatorship that ruled it for about four centuries of slavery, plunder, oppression, racism, rapes, abuse, and colonial restrictions led by a British non elected governor who was appointed by the Queen as a dictator above the local powerless fake-democratic government.
