U.S. commits to ending anti-satellite missile testing, calls for global agreement

The United States government has committed to ending the practice of anti-satellite missile tests, Vice President Kamala Harris announced on Monday. Plans for the move were set late last year, after the Russian military destroyed a defunct satellite with an anti-satellite weapon. To date, four countries - the U.S., Russia, China and India - have destroyed their own satellites in ASAT tests.

So the US says they destroyed one in 08 and they know Russia destroyed one last year. My guess the US never destroyed one but lied about it and are now behind in technology and want the world to stop because of that. Russia should tell them to pound sand
