Global temperatures on the rise as world fails to meet Paris agreement emissions targets

The reduction in carbon emissions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic has done nothing to slow the earth’s warming, warns a United Nations report. Other analyses released this week, ahead of next month’s Cop26 climate conference in Glasgow, show that the world is not meeting emissions reductions targets set out in the 2015 Paris agreement.

Contrary to expectations (Milankovitch cycle), ~1970 it was discovered that instead of heading into the next ice age, the climate was getting warmer. That would have been the proper moment to change the course. But (of course) it didn't happen. Investigating the causes of "the little ice age" it was discovered that a major contribution had been depopulation in the Americas. European settlers brought many diseases with them for which the indigenous peoples had no immunity. So they died massively, think of 100s of millions. Vast agricultural lands were abandoned so forests could regrow and the effect on CO2 content of the air was large enough to make a noticeable difference. Now, connect the dots.

The world temp has been changing since the beginning of time and that is proven by fossils being found but in the mean time maybe Al Gore can fly around in his personal jet and just tell us if we pay more taxes then everything will work out and the temp will drop
