Confiscated scooters stolen from police possession

Information reaching Virgin Islands News Online (VINO) is that two Yamaha scooters that were confiscated by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) relating to proceeds of a criminal conduct matter, were stolen from police possession.
A Police source familiar with the matter told VINO that the two Yamaha scooters were being housed in the yard of the Virgin Gorda Police Station, however, on December 29, 2020, they were both discovered missing.

According to information reaching our news centre, the scooters had been chained to a bulldozer in the compound and sometime around 23:00hrs, an officer on duty discovered that the motorcycles were missing and the padlock broken.

Police are said to be currently investigating the matter.

VINO will bring more information as they become available.
