COVID-19 cases on sharp decline in VI; 415 active cases recorded

The Virgin Islands is seeing a sharp drop in COVID-19 cases, with the total figure now at 415 active cases, according to the Territory's Epidemiological Summary.

The VI had seen a recent spike in COVID-19 cases, with active figures reaching over 1300 earlier this month.

2 new deaths from COVID-19


There has; however, been 2 new deaths from COVID-19 related complications, according to the summary.

There are now 49 COVID-19 related deaths in the VI.

Of the 415 active cases, 342 are on Tortola, 62 on Virgin Gorda, 6 on Jost van Dyke, 2 on Anegada and 3 on vessels.

There are 191 local cases and 152 contacts of cases.

The latest figures are the results of testing done on January 23, 2022, and reported on January 24, 2022.

5,809 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the VI.

5,345 persons have so far recovered.

There are now 49 COVID-19 related deaths in the Virgin Islands.
