COVID surge: 1387 active cases recorded in VI

The Government of the Virgin Islands, via the Territory's Epidemiological Summary, is reporting that active COVID-19 cases in the territory have further climbed to 1387, since the last update of January 10, 2022, when the figure was 1272 active cases.

This is according to the results of testing done on January 10, 2022, and reported on January 11, 2022.

There are 183 new cases, which actually represent a drop in infections compared to recent updates.

According to the Summary, 1094 active cases are on Tortola, 232 on Virgin Gorda, 57 on Anegada and 4 on Jost van Dyke.

There are 730 local cases and 533 contacts of cases.

There have been 4947 total COVID-19 cases recorded and 3520 recoveries.

The 183 new cases recorded actually represent a drop in infections compared to recent updates.
