Cuban in transit passengers refuse to board plane in VI

In what has been described by sources as a strange incident, two Cubans who landed at Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport at Beef Island on May 30, 2021, on an InterCaribbean flight as in transit passengers, allegedly refused to rejoin the plane.
According to reports, the two Cuba nationals boarded the aircraft in Dominica with Jamaica as their destination but were to remain in transit to the Dominican Republic and Cayman Islands.

Our newsroom understands that the 2 passengers came off the plane while in the VI and attempted to run away.

They were reportedly prevented from leaving the area but refused to return to the plane.

Reports are that the men were subsequently refused entry to the aircraft by the pilots, who allegedly expressed safety concerns due to the men's behaviour.

The Cubans were reportedly taken into custody by Immigration Department.
