Daniel Pruce has been appointed as the next Governor of the British Virgin Islands, succeeding John Rankin who will retire from the diplomatic service.
Pruce will take up his appointment in January 2024.
Rankin has been busy implementing the recommendations of the
Commission of Inquiry, which his predecessor commissioned, and has spoken frankly about the issues affecting the BVI, including the thriving narcotics trade.
However, his recent statement that he may have to use additional resources to get matters addressed in the BVI greatly displeased Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley.
