DeFreitas qualifies for women’s 200m semis @ Birmingham 2022

Virgin Islands sprinter Beyonce A. DeFreitas has qualified for the Women's 200m Semi-Finals today August 4, 2022, during the heat stage of the race at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
Running in the Women's 200m heat 6, DeFreitas came in at a time of 23.99 behind Canada’s Natasha McDonald with a time of 23.45 to make the qualifying score.

Speaking to the press shortly after the race DeFreitas said, “I just rant the heat of the 200m, My time was 23.099 which qualifies me for the semifinals, the race was pretty good.”

She added, “Once I saw that I was in second place, I kind of just reached the line and saved some for tomorrow for the semi-finals

VI top sprinterr Kyron A. McMaster also qualified for the semis in the heats of his 400m Hurdles.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games are currently being played at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham, England.
