Delay in test kit shipments leads to shortage at COVID-19 testing sites - BVIHSA

The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) has reported that as a result of a delay in shipment of antigen test kits, a temporary shortage of test kits is being experienced at local COVID-19 testing sites.
The Health Services Authority in a June 3, 2022, release said the matter is expected to be resolved by Thursday, June 10, 2022, with more updates to come.

"Please note that the BVIHSA is still accepting requests for RT-PCR tests. However, we recommend that persons opting for this diagnostic method, be prepared for a minimum of 24-hr turnaround time," the release added.

The BVIHSA said they regret the inconvenience the situation may have caused, however, promised more updates to come.

According to the Territory’s latest epidemiological summary, there are 101 active COVID-19 cases in the VI based on the latest figures of testing done on June 1 and reported on June 2, 2022.
