DMV introduces new drivers' license software
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has introduced a new drivers' license software, which is expected to make the renewal process easier and more efficient.
DMV has advised the public that all renewals would have to be done in person as it is a new system, and biometrics, signatures, and new photographs would have to be obtained.
The new software was implemented on September 30, 2022.
“The new system includes new printers, fingerprint scanners, signature pads, and rally cameras, all of which make the renewal process easier and more efficient, which I know the staff of the DMV and the members of the public will appreciate,” Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Kye M. Rymer (R5) informed the House of Assembly (HoA) during a statement at the Seventh Sitting of the Fourth Session of the Fourth HoA on October 25, 2022.

Hon Rymer said he was pleased to report that the DMV’s new drivers' license software is up and running.
“Madam Speaker, the new software and hardware are the first phase of a three-phase initiative to have renewals done online and other services, which will be convenient to customers going forward,” Hon Rymer said.
Persons can renew their drivers’ license from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Tortola and Virgin Gorda.
