Dog shot dead in Ballast Bay

Police are said to be investigating a shooting incident in Ballast Bay, Tortola, on Saturday night, October 17, 2020, that left a dog dead and a home damaged.
According to information reaching Virgin Islands News Online, persons in the area reported hearing at least three shots fired around 8:00pm.

Upon investigating, residents reportedly discovered that a dog was the victim of the shooting.

Bullet holes were also noticed on the outer walls of an apartment. And several spent shells were recovered.

The shooting has reportedly caused residents in the area to become concerned about their safety.

Several spent shells were recovered from the scene. Persons in the neighbourhood said they heard at least three shots fired that morning.

Police have confirmed the shooting incident.

“Police can confirm that a home in Ballast Bay sustained damage from bullets and a dog was found dead in the yard. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. No arrests were made and no weapons were recovered. No other details can be provided at this time,” Police Media Liaison Diane L. Drayton told our newsroom on October 19, 2020.
