Domestic ferry operations return to RT Jetty on Sunday, June 13, 2021- BVIPA

Domestic passenger ferry operations, currently relocated to the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park, will return to the Road Town Jetty this weekend, the BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) has said.

This comes as the Virgin Islands readies itself for the return of cruise ships with passengers after more than a year’s absence due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA) would like to notify the public of the return of domestic ferry passenger operations to the Road Town Jetty on Sunday, June 13, 2021,” a press release from BVIPA today, June 9, 2021, stated.

According to the BVIPA, health and safety protocols have been put in place and structures have been established to ensure the safety of both domestic and international ferry passengers as they utilise the seaport.

It also said the present schedule remains the same for both domestic and international ferry passenger operations.

“The BVI Ports Authority would like to thank the sister islands travellers for their patience and understanding as we adjust ferry operations to safeguard residents and guests of the Virgin Islands during this COVID-19 era.”

The Virgin Islands is preparing for the return of cruise ships with passengers after more than a year’s absence due to the coronavirus pandemic.
