Dominica's Opposition leader: Listen to protesters

Leader of the Opposition in Dominica, Lennox Linton is appealing to the authorities to listen to the young people of Marigot and deal decisively with the issues of justice which have angered and forced them into resistance mode.
The United Workers Party (UWP) leader made the appeal during a discussion on a radio program, as residents in the north-east village of Marigot, which he represents, protest for electoral reform in the lead up to the December 6 election.

Mr Linton said: “Nobody is prepared to look at the issue of justice which has brought young people out onto the streets. Everybody wants them to be brutalized and harassed into submission.”

He believes Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit still has time to address the country tonight on what he intends to do about the situation.
