Dr Kedrick D. Pickering to rejoin NDP! Strange bedfellows!

Dr Kedrick D. Pickering to rejoin NDP! Strange bedfellows!

In a bombshell move, former Deputy Premier and Minister for Natural Resources and Labour Dr Kedrick D. Pickering is expected to rejoin the National Democratic Party (NDP) to contest the 2023 general elections.

Dr Pickering left the NDP in 2019 to contest the general elections as an Independent candidate in the Seventh District. He was defeated by the incumbent, Premier and Minister of Finance Dr the Honourable Natalio D. Wheatley.

NDP sources told our news centre that Dr Pickering will be announced today, Friday, March 3, 2023, at an NDP press conference scheduled for The Moorings at 3:30 PM.

Dr Kedrick D. Pickering is expected to be announced as a National Democratic Party (NDP) candidate today, Friday, March 3, 2023, at an NDP press conference at The Moorings scheduled for 3:30 PM.

Strange bedfellows?

Dr Pickering had told the public that the next time they heard from him he will be with a group, after announcing last year that he was running At-Large as an Independent candidate. It is unclear what caused the change of heart.

Others have said he had pledged not to ever work with a former NDP Minister who is also on the ticket, this time in a district, but politics makes strange bedfellows.

Dr Pickering was famous for accusing residents of “being jealous of me because I have rich white friends.”

It is unclear whether the former legislator, who could not be reached for comment up to the time of publication, will now be running in the Seventh District or At Large as he had announced in September 2022.

Our news centre will bring more information as the story develops.
