Dries Van Noten's New-fashioned Take on Familiar Menswear for Fall/Winter 2021

Dries Van Noten's New-fashioned Take on Familiar Menswear for Fall/Winter 2021

With clever overlays, impeccable graphics, metallic elements, cleanliness, and extreme rigor, Dries Van Noten presented his Fall/Winter 2021 collection today during Paris Fashion Week Men's.

This morning Dries Van Noten unveiled what he deemed the perfect men's wardrobe for the historical time we are living in now. Shown through a static fashion show via video, the collection features key elements from the Belgian designer: impeccable graphics, metallic elements, clever overlays, dynamic asymmetries, cleanliness, and extreme rigor. The values of sportswear blend with formal clothes to show a contemporary and smart look, and the wardrobe is devoid of frills but nevertheless is ripe with functional details and elements, such as metal rings inserted in garments and accompanying accessories. Van Noten's relaxed silhouettes are composed of neutral shapes and lean volumes in contrast with comfy and oversize fits. The patterns of traditional tailoring are too revisited through dynamic slits on the sides of formal and casual garments, and fabrics continue the balanced dialogue signed by Van Noten with opaque and shiny materials, ultra-light brushed and crisp cottons, satin, and nylon. The prints are taken from the traditional motifs of the ties and show signs of the zodiac, chess, and stripes of the classic shirt. Precise and without trendy prestese, the new collection represents a set of fundamental items for current men's clothing.
