The Minister of Communications and Works in the British Virgin Islands, Kye Rymer, held an emergency meeting with key stakeholders to address recent security concerns at the Cyril B.
Romney Tortola Pier Park following an armed robbery.
The meeting was attended by various stakeholders, including the British Virgin Islands Ports Authority, Tortola Pier Park Ltd, the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board, and the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.
The stakeholders have agreed to commission a thorough security audit of the Tortola Pier Park to evaluate existing security protocols and propose necessary enhancements.
The audit report will be presented to Honourable Kye Rymer and the Boards of both BVIPA and TPPL on July 10, 2023.
The Ministry of Communications and Works has also requested additional support from the RVIPF to augment the security presence at the Pier.
Honourable Kye Rymer emphasized his commitment to the safety of citizens and visitors in
the Virgin Islands.
