Deputy Premier Smith Announces Clean-Up Efforts for BVI After Hurricanes

Deputy Premier Lorna Smith has announced that several companies have agreed to help clean up the British Virgin Islands (BVI) after the 2017 hurricanes.
She has also stated that the government is working to find a way to dispose of the wrecks of the derelict vehicles that have been scattered around the territory in an environmentally-friendly manner.

Smith has also mentioned that Tortola, the main island of the BVI, is one of the main concerns as there are still several derelict vehicles to be removed.

Previously, the Ministry of Social Development handled the removal of wrecked vehicles and debris, but some people were not willing to let go of their derelict vehicles as they hoped to salvage parts.
