Trump Administration Nominees Face Threats, FBI Confirms

Bomb threats and threats of violence target Trump's incoming team
In Washington, members of Donald Trump's forthcoming US administration, including his picks for key positions, have been subjected to various threats such as bomb alerts.

The FBI reported that several nominees, including Elise Stefanik for UN ambassador and Lee Zeldin for head of the Environmental Protection Agency, have been targeted.

Stefanik faced a bomb threat at her New York residence, and Zeldin dealt with a pipe bomb threat carrying a pro-Palestinian message.

Matt Gaetz, previously considered for attorney general, shared similar experiences on social media, while Scott Turner and Trump's Labor Secretary pick also reported bomb threats.

Other nominees such as John Ratcliffe for the CIA and Pete Hegseth for defense were reportedly targeted according to unnamed sources.

The FBI is collaborating with law enforcement to address swatting incidents and has kept outgoing President Joe Biden informed.

The White House underscores the administration's stance against political violence, as Trump organizers noted previous threats against him, including an assassination attempt in July and a thwarted plan in September.
