Female police officer interdicted for allegedly obstructing arrest

A female officer of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has been interdicted from duty for allegedly preventing her colleagues on duty from making an arrest on Friday, June 11, 2021.

According to reports, the incident had stemmed from an accident where a vehicle belonging to BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) allegedly ran over the foot of an individual at a popular bar on Fort Hill.

Police were called to the scene; however, one individual was allegedly behaving erratic and wanted to aggressively confront the driver of the vehicle involved.

At least 3 police officers allegedly intervened with efforts to arrest the man; however, the off-duty police officer allegedly put herself between the man and her colleagues, which caused the man to escape arrest.
