Fire officer Shaquoi Smith succumbs to injuries from motor scooter accident
The young fire officer of the Virgin Islands Fire and Rescue Services (VIF&RS) who received serious injuries from a motor scooter accident on Hope Hill on Easter Monday, April 18, 2022, has died.
According to reports just reaching our newsroom, Shaquoi Smith, 24, passed away this morning, April 22, 2022, at Dr D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
Our newsroom was told that Smith had suffered severe head injuries and was said to be in a coma.
It is unclear the circumstances surrounding the mishap or if any other vehicles were involved; however, the injured man was reportedly found at the side of the road around 7:00 am on Easter Monday.
