Fish Bay murder victim was Vincentian, two arrested

While releasing the identity of the man shot and killed in Fish Bay on March 15, the police have announced that two persons have been arrested in connection to the murder.
The victim is 38-year-old Long Trench resident, Deverson Williams — a native of St Vincent.

As for the arrestees, they were captured after a search warrant was carried out on a property on Tortola after the incident.

The cops also seized a loaded firearm and ammunition.

Police reports say Williams was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining several gunshot wounds while in his vehicle in the Fish Bay area around 3:45 pm on the day in question.

His vehicle and others nearby also sustained damage. So too was the International Motors building, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) said.

According to the RVIPF, evidence indicates that a high-powered weapon was used in this incident.

The police say they are presently working on several leads as they appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact the Major Crime Team directly at 368-5682 or Inspector Vernon Larocque at 368-9809.

Persons with information can also contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339. The public is assured that all information will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
