Five persons arrested in connection to 3 guns found

Operations led by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) Special Investigations and Criminal Investigations teams resulted in the seizure of three illegal firearms including a semi-automatic assault rifle and several rounds of ammunition over the course of the last 24 hours.
As a result, five persons, four males and one female, are presently in police custody on suspicion of illegal firearm possession.

The names of the individuals are being withheld until charges are laid. A series of search warrants carried out on premises in Baughers Bay, Purcell Estate and Great Mountain uncovered the prohibited rifle along with a Glock pistol and handgun.

The RVIPF is continuing its effort to remove illegal weapons from the streets.

Persons with information on those who have illegal weapons or where an illegal weapon is being hidden or stored are asked to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.
