The former Speaker of the House of Assembly, Julian Willock, has urged officials to come clean on the real reasons behind the delays in payment of salary increments to public servants.
The issue has been a controversial one for consecutive governments, with teachers threatening to undertake industrial action over the non-payment of their increments.
Willock has heard mixed signals on the issue and believes that the truth about the increment issue needs to come out.
He stated that consecutive Ministers of Finance have budgeted and passed funds for public service salary increments, but there are bottlenecks in the transfer of these funds to public servants.
Governor
John Rankin assured residents that the public service increments will be paid this month, but people remain sceptical.
